Management
Management involves the processes of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling human, technological, and physical resources to maximize the effectiveness of an organization.  Management is the art of doing things correctly.  It is a universal process that involves both technical and interpersonal skills.  Management includes leadership, problem solving, negotiation, and strategic planning.  From small business enterprises, government agencies, to vast global corporations, effective management is vital for success. 

 

The Dillard College of Business Administration major in Management prepares graduates to enter the business world and work in business organizations of all sizes and scope.  


Marketing

Marketing is an organizational function and a set of processes for creating, communicating, and delivering value to customers and for managing customer relationships in ways that benefit the organization and its stakeholders� (AMA 2004).  The major activities include identifying customer wants and developing, pricing, communicating, and delivering products that satisfy customer, organization, and stakeholder needs.  Marketing is a set of activities used to implement the philosophy of customer, organization, and stakeholder satisfaction. 

 

The Dillard College of Business Administration major in Marketing prepares graduates to enter the business world and work with business executives in organizations of all sizes and scope.   Organizations may range from community to global.
